FireFly Flying Lanterns are authentic Chinese Lanterns. Traditional ‘Khoom Fay’ or ‘Khom Loy’ lanterns were invented 1800 years ago by Zhuge Liang of China. They are still widely used in the Far East today to help celebrate important events and to bring good luck. Perhaps you have seen them when travelling in China or Thailand at beach parties or festivals?
What are they for?
Well, we think they are primarily for fun, to celebrate, or perhaps to educate! Our Lanterns are a great addition or alternative to fireworks, so are great for releasing at BBQ's or parties. They also work really nicely at birthdays,weddings or any kind of family occasion.
Perhaps you could launch lanterns to bring good luck to a new born baby, or at a christening or bar mitzva. In China and Thailand the Chinese and Thai people use the flying lanterns many times throughout the year.
